Vakhtang Tsereteli graduated from Georgian Technical University in 1970 with the specialty of Engineer-Constructor of Walking Roads. In 1985 he graduated from Institute of Asian and African Studies of Moscow State University. Faculty of Arabic Language.

From 1970 to 1995 he worked as an Engineer, Senior Engineer, Leader of the Party at the Project Institute KAVGIPROTRANS. From 1976 to 1999 he was in the Syrian Arab Republic on the construction of the railway bridges on the position of geodesist. From 1995 to 2000 he was the senior geodesist of JSC Gvirabmsheni and participated in construction of Supsa Terminal and Poti railway-ferry crossing.

In 2000-2003 he worked at Morrison Ltd as the senior geodesist on the construction of the hotel Marriott on Freedom Square. He as well worked on the construction of American Embassy in Dighomi in 2003 - 2005. In 2005 - 2010 he worked as the senior geodesist on the construction of the Presidential Palace in Avlabari. In 2010 - 2011 he worked as a technical supervisor on the construction of the Ministry of Justice in Ortachala. He held the position of technical supervisor on construction of House of Justice. In 2012-2015 He worked as the senior geodesist OF IMK Ltd. on construction of the Painter's House on Rustaveli Avenue. From 2015 to 2017 he worked on construction of Wissol company on the position of geodesist.

Since 2016 he is the senior geodesist of construction company Anagi.
